Our Love Story

How we met:
We met at a golf course, which is no surprise; it is just the way we both imagined meeting our spouse. When Milo saw me, he couldn’t believe that a cute girl played golf, and invited me to play. We ended up playing nine holes together. I thought he was very arrogant and cocky on the golf course. After the round he asked me out and I quickly turned him down. He asked me three more times and all three times I told him no. I had just broken off an engagement and wasn't ready to date anyone and especially not a cocky and arrogant guy. Then finally, on his fourth attempt, I said yes. He was very persistent; I had to give him a chance. On our first date he planned a picnic in the mountains by a lake. We ended up talking the entire time and had so much in common. He proved not to be the cocky guy I met at the golf course. I even thought he looked pretty cute in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, not his normal attire on the golf course. However, he brought me home at 10pm that night. I thought, “Who brings a girl home at 10pm? Maybe he didn’t like me. Ten o’clock is way too early to end a date!” However, the next day he called to ask me out again, but my brother answered the phone and told him I was on a date with someone else. Milo knew he had to act fast. The next day he called and asked me out again. After just a few months of dating we knew we wanted to be married. We dated nine months and were engaged. One year to the day from when we met we were married.

The big proposal:
Milo proposed to me in a very cute, unique and creative way.  He started off by taking me to the spot we had our very first date, a picnic by the lake. On our way to the lake, I knew he was getting ready to pop the big question. When we arrived at the lake, he pulled out a rose and told me to read the note. The note on the rose said, "This is in memory of our first date." Then he proceeded to drive to the first place we held hands, it was at a movie theater. As we walked around and looked at what movies were playing, he pulled out another rose and told me to read it. It said, "This is in memory of the first time we held hands." The third destination was where we had our first kiss, his aunts driveway (ha ha!). The letter on the rose said, "This is in memory of our first kiss." Then we drove to the Salt Lake City LDS Temple and walked around, I thought for sure he was going to propose. After walking around for at least an hour, he surprised me and had reservations at The Roof Restaurant. We ate dinner and the waiter brought out a half a dozen roses, with nothing written on them. After dinner, we looked at the amazing view of the temple, but still he didn't pop the question. As we proceeded to my house, he drove past and kept on driving. We ended up at the golf course, where we met. He pulled out a rose and then got down on one knee in the snow and opened a ring box with my engagement ring....Finally! He started by off by saying how he had been in love with me the instant he saw me and how grateful he has been to have me in his life and then he asked me to marry him and told me to read the note on the wedding ring. The note said, "This is for the memories we have yet to make." It was such a cute way of asking and I was so surprised at the clever way he asked me. I got tears in my eyes and said, "Yes!"
