Our Message

Dear Friend,
We hope our blog fills you with laughter, courage and faith.  We are very excited for the opportunity to share a little about ourselves.  Thank you for taking the time to read more about us.

A little about Amy (By Milo):
Amy grew up with five rowdy brothers.   Like any girl with only brothers, she likes to compete and beat the boys at everything.  She is an excellent skier, soccer player, and golfer.  Amy is also excellent at water sports like wake boarding and water skiing.  Her family always had a boat or other watercraft.  Before she would marry me, Amy made me promise that one day we would have a boat in our family, and she has reassured me that the little rubber one in our garage doesn’t count.  Amy is the fun and adventurous one in the relationship.  She is the best combination of a tomboy and a girly girl I can imagine.  Amy can do anything she sets her mind to.  She is artistic, athletic, musical (as long as she doesn’t have to sing), and creative.  Amy is known for making each of our nieces and nephews stuffed animals made from socks.  Those sock monkeys, frogs and owls have become the favorite toy of many of the kids.  Aunt Amy is the “favorite aunt” to all of the nieces and nephews on both sides of the family.  At any family function it is always easy to find Amy, because she is constantly being swarmed by all of the kids.  It seems as though she never tires of playing with them.  Amy is also a great story teller, she is famous among the youth of our church for the stories she told at girl’s camp.  She is born to be a great mother and will instill good values in our children and will help them love life.

A little about Milo (By Amy):
Milo was raised to be a rough and tumble cowboy on a cattle ranch, but turned out to be a preppy golfer.  As a child he was in love with baseball and received many scholarship opportunities.  However, due to an injury during high school, he put his passion and enthusiasm into golf and received a golf scholarship.  He is now a professional golfer and enjoys playing tournament golf and has passion for teaching golf.  In fact, he loves to teach almost anything.  His favorite part of his job is teaching the local high school golf team.  The boys love him because he isn’t afraid to tell them when they are being knuckle heads and jokes around with them.  Milo served a mission in Argentina and loves to speak Spanish whenever he gets a chance.  He loves music and you can rest assured our home is filled with it.  A day has not gone by that Milo hasn’t been caught singing in the shower or singing a tune while walking around.  It’s amazing how much that fills our home with fun and cheap entertainment.  He is very good with our 24 nieces and nephews.  He is always telling our nieces how beautiful they look and wrestling with our nephews.  He is very good at communicating and loves to talk about everything, which is a huge asset in our marriage and makes life a lot easier.      Milo also loves to serve me…..or at least I think he does, because he does so regularly and with a smile.  When he cooks dinner, he will always serve me first.  It’s the small and simple things he does each and every day that makes me love him more.

Our struggle and dream:
Milo and I are very thankful for adoption.  Although we love doing many things together and it may seem as though we have a great life, a nice home, good jobs, and a circle of family and friends who love us very much.  We have made many sacrifices and have had to endure much pain and heartache in an attempt to start a family.  We have worked multiple jobs and made many financial sacrifices to be able to afford the procedures that would give us a chance at conception.  Each time we would get our hopes up just to have them dashed time and time again.  The sadness that comes from infertility can be overwhelming, but it has led us to be very grateful for many things, especially for the miracle of adoption and for the opportunity it will afford us of becoming parents.  We dream of the day when we will be able to raise children and spend time with them doing the things they love.  We look forward to helping them learn who they are by giving them opportunities to try many things.  We imagine a home where love, kindness, laughter and service will be experienced and felt often.  We hope you find peace and happiness in your decision.  We are so thankful that you have taken the time to read our profile.

Love,
Amy and Milo
